This is for the in-state as well as out-of-state students. Indiana University is a wonderful place. Now that the coldest part of winter is over, we can all finally go back to wearing shorts (every now and then it does get a little chilly though). People are jogging outside, walking their dogs, and I even saw a few dudes wearing 'Roys tank tops. But, what better way to celebrate the end of winter than ice cream at Jiffy Treet?!?
Now some of you might think, "oh poo, lent just started". Well then SOME of you need to rethink what you gave up for lent because ice cream is divine. Jiffy Treet is one of those local Bloomington restaurants that you need to know about. I know that there is a Coldstone and a DQ nearby, but this stuff is better. I mean, it's one of those places you need to visit. For all I know, it's not anywhere else but Bloomington, IN. The vibe I get from the store makes me feel like I truly am the best (maybe the smartest?) student at Indiana University for purchasing such a wonderful treat.
Now hey- there are other places to go in Bloomington that make you feel special, but my point is that Jiffy Treet will satisfy any sugar crave (guilty or non-guilty, they have healthier options). Also, it's arguably a rite of passage for any person that wants to call themself a student at the greatest college in the world, IU.
In case you're wondering, there are a few Jiffy Treet restaurants close to campus. One is on 14th Street and Walnut and another is by the College Mall on 3rd Street and 45/46.
Go "nom" on some ice cream, people.
