Out-Of-Stater's insight on In-Stater's Basketball Love

Honestly, I am so proud to be a Hoosier! One of my favorite things about being at IU is seeing how the In-Staters treat IU (not just the students)... Indiana residents are so proud to call themselves Hoosier's...They way they support the teams (especially IUBB) is amazing it's like a close knit family and although I'm from Illinois, I happen to be apart of it!

I read this cool article : http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/8896650/basketball-touches-life-all-levels-indiana-college-basketball

This article is truly a must read to get in insight on how much Basketball in general means so much to the residents here in Indiana. it brings the community together and frankly that is what it is doing here at IU! Its the smile you have every time you see a Crean and Crimson shirt ( the first time I saw it I thought it was a typo). Its pride you have everytime you can tell you Purdue friend "Ha, we beat you in Basketball!" or when you here This Is Indiana play in the dorm room next to you! These moments help build the community at IU

One thing I though was funny was the video of Third Graders This Is Indiana tribute but what meant a lot was during the vieo where they said they are a Hoosier and are going to be the next so and so! You can watch the video here: http://vimeo.com/58679809

What you shoud know though is that honeslty you dont really have to be a basketball fan to be here at IU...not everyone here is a hardcore fan! I remember on a tour here once, someone tol me "You have to be a fan and if your not now you will be" To tell you the truth I am still in the "will be process' As it should be known I refer tackling and thats where Football comes in! Oh an Go Ravens!!
