The Start of Spring Break

Ahh...tomorrow officially marks the start of Spring Break. This translates into a whole week away from campus, no classes, and sleeping in a big bed. I'm heading home, which also entails home cooked meals and a fully stocked fridge. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to it!

As much as I love college, being away for months at a time make you appreciate the little things about being home even more. Having someone help you do your laundry, keep (good) food in the house, and hang out with in the afternoons for hours at a time is going to be so nice.

Last year I went somewhere for Spring Break, but this year since I'm leaving for London in a couple short months, I'm trying to soak in as much extended time at home as I can (and save up as much money as possible!) I'm thinking a staycation is just what I need after the crazy, stressful school schedule I've had lately. It will be good to catch up on everything going on in life, as well as some extra sleep too :)

What are your favorite things about Spring Break?

I'll see you from home! :D

Rachel HartogJournalism Major, Class of 2014, Georgetown, IN

I am a journalism major and business minor and plan to graduate in May 2014. Some of my best experiences in life have been because of IU, including studying abroad, meeting great people, and having an awesome internship

After I graduate, I hope to get into the broadcast journalism field, either traveling as a field reporter or getting to cover local events. I'm still exploring what specific area interests me but am open to just about anything!

I am looking forward to sharing all of my experience and everything that makes IU such a great place to be on this blog!
