Greetings, readers, and fellow bloggers!

Hi everyone! How are you guys? Happy Valentine's Day!

My name is Nicolette, and I'm a freshman here at IU. I absolutely love it here so far. I was at IUPUI last semester but decided to transfer, and, well, here I am. I'm originally from Mishawaka, Indiana, which is a town next to South Bend (the home of Notre Dame). I have one little brother named Cameron who is in the first grade, and I am extremely close to the rest of my family. I love them a lot.

I currently reside in Foster International Living Learning Center (a.k.a. FIN). I'm 99% sure I was placed here because it's where they had room, since I am a transfer student, but I actually really like it. There are people here from all around the world, and while I've always had an interest in other cultures, I am a little shy when it comes to just asking people about their lives. Living in FIN has really forced me to get to know people who I would normally be nervous to talk to, and I'm very grateful for that.

Of course, the unavoidable question: "What's your major?" I was exploratory during the fall semester, though I was looking into majors like psychology, human sexuality, and English. I came to a decision about two weeks ago and declared informatics as my major, with a cognate in graphic design. I'm extremely interested in web design and would like to do freelance work when I graduate.

You'll often find me tucked away in my dorm watching Comedy Central and surfing the net. I love to watch movies, and some of my favorites are A Clockwork Orange, Step Brothers, and the Shawshank Redemption. I could literally talk about movies for hours and hours, so if that's something you're interested in, feel free to contact me to chat!

I also really love animals. Any of my friends can tell you that I am obsessed with my cat, Cleo. She is my best friend, not even going to lie! If I had it my way, I would have countless pets: cats, dogs, ferrets, mice, sugar gliders, exotic animals, you name it. I love them all. If I see a stray on the side of the road, I stop, no matter what. Once, I even stopped for a baby raccoon whose mom was squashed, and took steps to ensure it was safe in the care of a professional!

I am constantly on the internet, so I'll probably be pretty active on here. I have a lot of random, weird things that I'd love to share with you all, and if you have any suggestions, please just comment and I will do my best to post about it ASAP.

That's all for now -- Cheers!

My little brother, Cameron, and I.
