There is no secret that IU is one of the most beautiful college campuses in the nation, and fall is definitely when the beauty of our campus reaches its peak. Fall has always been my favorite time of the year for many reasons, and now that I am at IU it has become clear to me as to why I love fall so very much. Lets check out why I think the fall season and IU are the perfect match:
Fall is the best time of the year for sports fans on college campuses everywhere. The World Series is currently taking place (Go Red Sox!), the NFL is going strong, and the NBA is starting up again. There are so many sports going on at once!
Here at IU, in particular, it is the start of Indiana basketball season. This means Hoosier Hysteria, Haunted Hall of Hoops, and the beginning of another season of candy striped excitement for Hoosier Nation. Lets not forget, our Hoosier football team is still in the middle of their season, too! With the combination of these popular sports, along with the underrated intensity of IU Volleyball home games, all going on at the same time, how can you not love the fall season if you are a sports fan here at IU?
A decline in temperatures might upset many summer-loving students here at IU. However, for some students (myself included), the fall season brings more opportunities. During the summer months, it is sometimes a hassle to run outside, or even walk to class because of the intensity of the heat. With fall comes a chance to run in long-sleeves, or play a pick-up football game in Dunn Meadow, which would be miserable in summer heat.
Also, fall and its temperature change presents an opportunity for us to change up the daily wardrobe. So much for t-shirts and shorts everyday, which just gets old after a while. Fall is the season when we have the opportunity to break out our favorite clothing brands (The North Face, Levi's, Columbia, etc). Discount cold weather gear can even be purchased at the IU Outdoor Adventure Gear Shop, located on the ground floor of Eigenmann Residence Center. This means we can be comfortable and stylish at the same time, and who doesn't like the sound of that?
Fall at IU is truly a beautiful thing. So, although I got some confused looks when I was stopping to take pictures at random places around campus, I took one for the team and snagged some fall photos of our beautiful campus:
Thank you for reading, and Go Hoosiers!
