In a nutshell

Hi everyone!

My name is Melissa, and I'm a sophomore majoring in Human Development & Family Studies, which is through the School of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation (HPER). I am also triple minoring in Human Sexuality, Psychology and Gerontology. Whew!

This is my second year living in Collins Living Learning Center, where I am a yearbook photographer and floor governor. I am also the student coach for the The Buccaneers, which is Collins' Men's Little 500 team! Go Bucs! Once a week I volunteer for The Children's Door, which is a program in Bloomington that facilitates monitored custody exchanges for divorced parents and their children.

I'm an out-of-state student from Mundelein, Illinois, which is about halfway between Chicago, Illinois and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I was drawn to IU because of the simple admissions process, academic scholarships and beautiful campus. I am amazed by how cultural and exciting Bloomington is- there is always something fun to do and always something new to learn.

My favorite activities include writing letters, sitting outside, arts & crafts, drinking coffee and exploring Bloomington. I'm very excited to share my stories on what college life is like at IU. Go Hoosiers!
Puppies on Kirkwood!
