Can you believe it is November already? Time to bring out the hats, gloves, and scarfs everyone. Winter is my least favorite season. Trekking across campus when the wind chill is negative five degrees is never an enjoyable activity. IU students shouldn't worry though, campus does not go into hibornation during these long winter months. There are still plenty of things to do inside. Here is a list of a few things that can get students through until spring break.
Warm Winter Activities:
1. IMU FREE movies.
Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, The Indiana Memorial Union has free movie viewings for students. The showings are at 8pm and 11pm. Click on this link http://imu.indiana.edu/board/films.shtml to see what is showing this weekend.
2. How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical
If you need to get into the holiday spirit, check out How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical on November 15th or 16th. Tickets are on sale now. Purchase them at the Auditorium Box office or online at http://IUauditorium.com
Need I say more? Students with tickets, Go support the basketball team! Arrive early and enjoy the game. If you are one of the many unlucky students who do not have tickets, don't worry there are plenty of ways to watch. Dorm rooms (I hope you snag a spot on the futon), Apartments, or even get a group of friends together and go to a restaurant. Everyone there wil be cheering on the Hoosiers!
4. Group Exercise Classes
Yup I said it, the dreaded word, EXERCISE, but during the winter, people can become grouchy because they just end up sitting around (Freshman-this is when students gain the freshman15). The SRSC has a ton of group exercise classes that keeps you moving and are fun. I have taken a few and always enjoyed them. They range from strenuous work outs to fun ones. Take your pick. Go to http://www.iurecsports.org/fall_schedule to see the whole list of classes.
