Hi there Hoosiers!

Gosh this is exciting! This is the first time I have ever written a blog and let me tell you, I am pumped! I guess I should start by introducing myself!

My name is Linden Spalding. I am going to be a junior this year at Indiana University. It is so weird to say that! I can't believe my time here is already halfway over. Or, if you look at it optimistically, I still have two years to go! Woot! I absolutely love Indiana University and could not have made a better college decision.

I came to school knowing that I wanted to study Speech and Hearing Sciences. I'm not sure what route I want to take with that but the field is very diverse and it is great to have tons of options. I am minoring in Spanish and hope to study abroad some time within the next year. I work for Rec Sports on campus as an intramural volleyball head official. I also volunteer as a campus tour guide. During my sophomore year, I served as the President of my residence hall (Wright Quad) and I will be a Resident Assistant (RA) there this coming year.

Right now, I am spending my first summer in Btown and working as an Orientation Leader for New Student Orientation. I love this job because I get to meet so many wonderful people and I work with some of the best Hoosiers on campus! I am also falling more in love with IU and Bloomington each and every day.

I can't wait to share my stories and experiences with you. I hope you get some of your questions answered or maybe something I say here will spark an interest or pique your curiosity. My advice to you is don't be afraid to try anything throughout your four years here. College is a chance to break out and learn about things you never knew existed before. Be adventurous! Have fun! GO HOOSIERS!
