You Can Still be Involved as an Independent Woman!

Want to be involved in IU traditions like tailgating, Homecoming festivities and Little 500? Interested in combining philanthropy with making friends for life? Don't think that rushing is your only option!

Independent Council is an organization for women who want to be involved on campus socially and philanthropically. I chose not to rush as a freshman and after listening to my dorm floor erupt with screams on Bid Night, I was nervous I'd never find my niche on campus. Independent Council is my niche.

Come to the call-out meeting on Monday, September 10 in the Oak Room of the IMU at 7:30. Learn about all the fun events like Shots for Shriners, Fall Shenenigans, Nearly Naked Mile, Little 50 and bar crawls and how get connected to a network of great girls!

I met some of my best friends (and best roommates!) through IC and becoming a member changed my college experience. I really can't imagine the last few years without these girls, so come check out what IC can offer you!

I'm a student at Indiana University and am very involved on campus! I work as a copy-editor and reporter for the Indiana Daily Student and am an editor for Arbutus. I also have a press relations internship with IU Liberian Collections and am a committee chair for Independent Council, an organization for women interested in philanthropy in a social atmosphere. With all these experiences, I can't imagine spending my college years anywhere but Indiana!
