It's been a week since the Hoosiers fell to Kentucky in the Sweet Sixteen, and while it's easy to wallow in the let-down, Bloomington must face a few steps of recovery from the most exhilarating IU basketball season in decades.
1. Disappointment: We made it to the Sweet Sixteen, but we wanted more. There was not a single face of joy or even contentment on the long faces shuffling home Friday night instead of rushing Kirkwood. No matter how amazing the ride was, the end of the best IUBB season arguably since 2002 was met with broken hearts.
2. Satisfaction: We made it to the Sweet Sixteen, and that's all that matters. To think the fact that we went from a losing streak in 2010-2011 to beating the number one seed is amazing. Even though we could hear that sixth banner knocking on the door, waves of satisfaction soon covered disappointment.
3. Excitement: We made it to the Sweet Sixteen, but now let's put our focus on next year. With a strong foundation, new recruits, and a leader with a vision, the 2012-2013 season will surely not disappoint.
IU Basketball has been the lifeblood of Bloomington for a while, but after Dec. 10, 2011, Hoosier pride is running deep and ready to keep going.
