I've lived in Bloomington for almost 4 weeks now.
And I have to say, it's been the best 4 weeks of my life.
When I moved in, I didn't know what to expect. I was scared that I wasn't going to meet anyone, I wasn't going to have fun, and most of all, that I was going to get lost on my way to class.
Well, I have met people. Choosing to live in the Media Learning Living Center was one of the best choices I could have made for my housing. I'm living with a floor of people that not only share my interests, but also bring their own to the table. And instead of being a floor of straight-up nerds like I feared, I'm living with a floor of people that I am genuinly starting to like.
I'm having a lot of fun, too. There's always something to do here, whether it's exploring campus, going to classes, going to club callouts or doing homework. Since the day that I moved in I've experienced alot.
I've gone to my first college football game with my friends (excuse my hair, it was a bit humid that day). I've gone to call-outs for many different kinds of clubs and organizations. I've gone to events around campus, and met some really interesting characters. I've applied to the IDS, and hopefully I'll even be writing soon. And finally, I've gotten the chance to join organizations that are going to be able to make a difference. I'm so glad I've gotten the chance to explore all the different opportunities around campus, even though I might not have the chance to be in all of them.
And best of all, I haven't gotten *that* lost going to classes (thanks mom for the wonderful sense of direction I inherited).
So I guess the general conclusion of this inexperienced blog is that I'm really enjoying my new life here at IU. I love the campus, the people, and the atmosphere. And I know that after all the time I spent searching for colleges paid off. I'm excited to take every opportunity that comes my way. Even if it means running home in the rain, like my roommate and I had to do.
