I'm one of those people who need something sweet after every meal. Now that I have a kitchen, it's easy. Just buy break and bake cookies, or when I'm feeling more ambitious, make a dozen or so cupcakes. While living in the dorms, I had very limited options. Order cookies from Baked! (too expensive for every night) or Warm Delights (ehh...mediocre). Then, I stumbled across this recipe. It became an instant favorite on my dorm floor. I still use this recipe because it is SO fast and SO easy...and it tastes much better than those Betty Crocker Warm Delights (which you can also get at the C -Stores). You can find all these ingredients in either the C-Stores or Union Street Market, which again adds to the convenience factor.
NUTELLA MUG CAKE (yields:1 HUGE serving)
4 tablespoons of self rising flour
4 tablespoons of granulated sugar
3 tablespoons of cocoa powder
1 medium egg
3 tablespoons of milk
3 tablespoons of nutella
3 tablespoons of vegetable or olive oil
OPTIONAL: a handful of chocolate chips, walnuts, or anything else you can think of!
Whisk all ingredients together with a fork and microwave for about 2 minutes. Be sure to whisk VERY WELL, getting to the very bottom of the mug, or else you'll have a weird mixture of dry ingredients on the bottom of your cake. Let cool for 5 minutes. Top with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, or powdered sugar and enjoy!
WARNING: These MAY contribute to the notorious "freshman fifteen". Trust me. I don't even want to think about how bad this is for you, because it just tastes soooo goood.
