What to take away from College Visits

Oh the joy of looking at different college campuses!  I remember touring different campuses like it was yesterday!  I only toured three schools, all in Indiana, because I wanted a school close to home (Northwest Indiana).  When I did my college visits, I scheduled them on the same weekend.  It was somewhat overwhelming at first, but after visiting Ball State, Butler, and Indiana University in the same weekend, there was no question what university I liked the best...IU of course!

While visiting Indiana University, something special stuck with me.  I don't know if it was the fact that one of the main streets (Jordan Ave.) is my name, or how gorgeous the campus is, but something definitely got to me.  While visiting the campus, and going on a tour, I remember I was somewhat hesitant to ask questions.  Even though the tour guide was helpful, there still may be more questions you are wondering about and want answered.  It seemed like all the buildings and dorms were so far apart.  I couldn't imagine how students got places around campus.  While walking through campus and touring different buildings, it helped me realize that IU was the school for me!

When I visited IU again for Red Carpet Day, I was even more excited about college.  The whole experience felt more surreal.  I was so enthusiastic about coming to Red Carpet Day and see what the day had in store for me.  I was also just impressed by the actual name of the event.  My parents were thrilled with my decision to attend Indiana University, as was I.  Attending the Red Carpet day reassured me of my decision to attend this university.  I was beyond thrilled to see what was in store for me.  This is one picture from Red Carpet day that I will forever cherish!

College visits not only get you excited about your future, but also reassure your decision of where to attend college.  I was beyond happy with my decision, and so thankful for the support of my parents.  I can't believe that it's been almost two years since I've made my decision.  Time flies!

Hey Hoosiers! My name is Jordan and I'm currently a sophomore at IU!  I'm from Northwest Indiana, 30 minutes outside of Chicago!  I work part-time at the IU Call Center.  I'm not 100% sure on my major yet, but I know I want to do something with law.  I am involved in Union Board Spirits committee and the Criminal Justice Student Association.  I enjoy playing tennis in my free time as well as spending time with my friends.  I absolutely love watching sports, but I also can be such a girly girl.  I'm so excited for IU Basketball to start and I hope you are too!  I hope my posts give you insight about IU and life in general.
