Things To Know When Choosing A College

So let me tell you, choosing which college I wanted to go to was not something that I found easy.  Yes, my high school did prepare me for my future.  But to tell you the truth, deciding the next step in my future was not something that I found easy.  Since I'm from the Midwest, I knew I wanted to go to a school either in Indiana or Illinois.  My parents wanted the best for me so they supported me through my decision.  We went to tour Ball State University, Butler University, Purdue University, Indiana University, and Loyola University in Chicago.  I liked the schools that I toured, but IU stole my heart.  I fell in love with the campus, the people, and the overall spirit of IU.  I knew right away that Indiana University was the place for me.  I was somewhat unsure about my major when deciding which college to pick.  Since Indiana University has so many different options when it comes to choosing a major, I wasn't too worried about finding the perfect fit for me.  Honestly, when I toured IU for the first time, I knew it was the place where I belonged.  The overall atmosphere of the university took my heart.  Yes, choosing a college may be hard and people may have countless possibilities and options, but honestly following your heart or intuition is the best deciding factor.  In order to be fully successful, you need to love what you're doing and where you're doing it at.  I'm fully satisfied with my choice to come to Indiana University, and if I had to pick my college over again, I would for sure have IU #1 on my list :)
