My name is Jessica Williams and I'm a junior in the IU School of Journalism. I transferred to IU for the fall 2011 semester in order to get my degree from one of the best J-Schools in the nation.

I spent my whole life in the same house in Huntington, Ind., which is about 30 minutes southwest of Fort Wayne. I grew up playing basketball and cheering for the boys in the candy stripes, I'm a big IndyRacing League fan and I love my Colts -- which means I'm certainly a Hoosier in every sense of the word. I'm the youngest of three kids (I have an older brother and sister) and I recently became an aunt of a beautiful baby girl.

When I'm not studying or writing for a newspaper, I enjoy hanging out with friends, reading and watching TV and movies. I consider myself a proud Harry Potter and Twilight nerd. My favorite color is orange (you should see my dorm room) and my super hero of choice is Spider-Man.

I think I just successfully summed myself up in under 200 words, so I hope you enjoy WeAreIU.com!

Jessica WilliamsClass of 2013

Hey guys! My name is Jessica and I'm a senior in the IU School of Journalism. I'm also earning minors in history and political science. After graduation -- May 2013! -- I hope to enter the newspaper industry.

I use "Musings of a Hoosier" to share my experiences as an IU student, which are different than other bloggers' experiences because not only was I born and raised in Indiana, but I'm also a transfer student. I hope I can teach you something about IU that you didn't know before.

Go Hoosiers!
