Student Involvement Fair

Well, one week down and many more to go! Are you busy? Bored? Not enough friends yet? Then come to the Student Involvement Fair tomorrow, Wednesday 8/29/ from 11 a.m to 3 p.m at Dunn Meadow and sign up for clubs!

The only way to meet people is to get out into the world! Want to learn how to kayak? There's a club for that. Want to sit aorund with other Democrats or Republics and talk about the upcoming election? Theres a club for that. Need some exercise after a long day of classes? There are many, many clubs for that!

Personally, I think I signed up for 6 clubs last year. Realistically that is a bit tough to manage, but sign up anyway! Anything that might spark your interest, give the leaders your email address now and decide later. Freshman year is tough when you have too much time on your hands. It gets boring and lonesome, so make sure you get involved this year. You never know, you might meet people that will become life-long friends!

Joing clubs will introduce you to new Bloomington hot spots and campus places. You can travel all over the town or even Indiana. Clubs travel to the National forests for hiking and camping. The run club races Purdue at their home field or other university run club campuses.

After two or three years in the club you can be the leader or President of that club. Then you will be in my spot, welcoming newcomers to your club. Organizations are always welcoming new people. Do not be shy to ask questions and get involved. Indiana University has over 300 clubs, anyone with at least one interest, whether its volunteering or competitive swimming, will have the chance to meet other people with the same interests and enjoy their freshman year!

Also, while you are attending the fair, stop by the WEAREIU.COM table and talk with us! And if you see me walking around reporting, come and talk to me and you might be in the school paper! https://www.idsnews.com/news/story.aspx?id=88145
