IU just got better...and fitter.
The SRSC was recently renovated, adding many, many new machines to its already lavish gym. Before the construction, runners and elliptical workers had to fight for machines if on a busy day. Weight lifters were dodging around free weights and those toning their abs in the corner. It was busy and hectic, and at times, dangerous.
If you have not been the rec center in the past couple of weeks, this is your motivation! Head over and marvel at the space, the new machines and pounds just slipping right off!
Upstairs, you no longer have to sign up for one of the ten bikes or ellipticals. Walk in and take your choosing. The entire first room of the S&C is filled up rows of ellipticals and machines. There are also brand new weight machines, including exercises for your amrs, back and legs.
Keep walking, and the extended S&C room hits you in the fce with the number of rowing machines, cycling machines, and treadmills. On the left side of the room, remains the barbells ranging from 5lbs to 40lbs. There is one free bar weight in the corner, take you turn! The room also added three rows of new machines, ones for shoulders, legs and arms.
On the right side of the room the space for abs is intimidating. To guess, about 30 people can fit together on their own mats, and still able to perform countless ab exercises. There are medicine balls, busos, matts and exercise balls. You work those washboard abs!
Downstairs the new weight room is huge! There are tons of machines, ready for buff men and women to free lift. People can bench press, hangs, cleans, squats...the list goes on and on.
Stayingfit and healthy is difficult in college, with the late nights, partying and amazing Mother Bear's pizza. It is important to keep up with workouts and exercise. To maintain a schedule, mark a calendar with the best days and times for your exercise goals.
