I am currently in P101 (introduction to psychology), which is an interesting class. However, you are required to earn four psych experiment credits. The experiments can be fun, but I seemed to pick all the long tedious ones!
I finished my last one today which was about search optimization on the internet (Approaches to Search on the Web). I also did one about detecting emotion and other things about the face (Categorizing People), I filled out personality questionnaires (Experiences of Others), and finally, I learned what it was like to communicate through the internet instead of face-to-face (Networked Activities).
The pro of completing the experiments is that you don't have to do a 15 page essay by the required time (who would want to do something like that?!). The experiments take anywhere from 20 minutes to almost an hour (the Approaches to Search on the Web and Categorizing People experiments were pretty long), though these experiments also give you a good experience it also contributes to the people who run them on campus. And if I'm not mistaken, there are even opportunities to get paid for completing experiments!
