Restaurants That Should Be On Your Radar (for When Your Parents Come to Visit)

Bloomington has some of the best restaurants in the world! Fourth Street is known as "Restaurant Row" and has ethnic restaurants from all around the world! These restaurants are mostly in old renovated homes with makes for a unique experience.

Here are the best restaurants to take parents (or for parents to take you) when they visit:

Mother Bear's Pizza (1428 East 3rd Street) - The competition for best pizza in Bloomington is fierce, but I think Mother Bear's is #1 for sit down pizza. They have tons of different pies to try  or you can create your own. The pesto bread sticks are a must! It's a Bloomington tradition. (And you get to take home tons of leftovers when you go with your parents!)

Scotty's Brewhouse (302 North Walnut Street) - Scotty's is one of my favorite restaurants. They have a little bit of everything and all the food is great! I love the atmosphere and the big comfy booths. It's a great place to watch sports too. Everyone has to try the Shewman Special - a burger with cheddar cheese, bacon, jalapenos, and peanut butter!

Nick's English Hut (423 East Kirkwood Ave) - Located on the best street in Bloomington, Nick's is another Bloomington tradition.  Nick's opened over 50 years ago and the inside is even cooler than the outside.

Village Deli (409 East Kirkwood Ave) - The Village Deli has the best breakfast in Bloomington! Their pancakes are huge and you can get toppings like chocolate chips, peanut butter, or strawberries. They also have delicious omelets and breakfast burritos.

The Trojan Horse (100 East Kirkwood Ave) - This Greek restaurant has a window to the kitchen that can be seen from Kirkwood. They have the best Gyros and Saganaki! This is definitely something different that everyone should try!

Scholar's Inn (717 North College Ave) If you are looking for a fancier place to celebrate or just want to indulge, Scholar's Inn is perfect! It has a large menu for both brunch and dinner with choices for everyone. They also have two other locations which are more casual and offer soup and sandwiches. They bake all the bread locally so it is always fresh.

Scenic View (4600 S State Road 446) - This restaurant is off the beaten path for most Hoosiers. When you arrive, you have the most beautiful view of Lake Monroe in all Monroe County! All the food is amazing and they have a large selection of beers on tap.

This is just a brief overview of all that Bloomington has to offer. With nearly 150 restaurants, there is a favorite for everyone just waiting to be found!
