My Junior Year At IU: A Short Retrospective

I attended both the Little 500 races this weekend and I loved it. It's not really like NASCAR . . . which was my greatest fear. Even though it was freezing and I couldn't feel my feet at the women's race, it was still an awesome time. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not often a part of the college culture here, but I'm glad I decided to give the "Little 500 experience" a shot. It had more to offer than just insane partying and crazy people-- who would have guessed?

My girls and me at the men's Little 500 race. The guys' race had so many crashes and it was super dramatic. Cru Cycling, the team I was supporting, finished 11th in both races-- I felt proud to be associated with them even though I know nothing about biking.

I can't believe the year is coming to a close. It's gone by so fast.

At the same time, I'm glad to be able to look back at this year and feel happy. I made friends that I know will be a part of my life for a very long time. I spent too much money on ice cream, pizza, and Indian food though, but I tried new things and lightened up a bit. I forgave people and let things go that I'd been holding onto for far too long.

All in all, I'd say it was a successful year at Indiana University and this is the first time I can truly say I'll be looking forward to coming back to campus in the fall.
