Last year I stayed in Bloomington to take summer Icore. Although the class was not the best part, Bloomington in the summer is great!
If you like Bloomington, imagine it with all its beauty, without traffic, and with only a fourth the amount of people. It is one of the greatest places to spend a summer. Believe me, it beat going home to my parents house for the summer.
This summer or next, if you have the chance, I encourage you to take classes at Indiana University for half price, or find a job in Btown, or both! You probably already have to pay your rent for the summer right? If not, there are plenty of places to sublease for very reasonable prices in the summer. There are a lot listed on the OneStart classifieds.
The people here in the summer may be more friendly than during the year. I met some of my closest friends here at IU this past summer when there was a smaller group to hang out with. The fact that a lot of people leave just makes the remaining people on and around campus closer.
This summer, I am fortunate enough to have landed an internship in Bloomington. I am incredibly excited to be staying for the second summer in a row and to have an income so that I can check out all the places I have missed out on in Btown, with half the amount of people around.
