...need I say more. This season has been one to remember! Being a Junior, I am ecstatic to finally have a team to cheer for!
Although, I never thought I would a crazy college basketball fan, I succeeded. On March 4th my roommate and I sat outside of Assembly Hall with our GA tickets, from 6:45am in 25 degree weather, until they let us in the building at 4:30pm.
Here is a picture of my roommate, Rachel, at about 8am. The line went way behind us as you can kind of tell in the picture.
One thing I can say is that this experience was worth it! (even though I had no voice for the following 2 days). The college culture and excitement of people in line was insane. There was music blasting, people dancing, free food from the crimson guard, and, of course, cheering for IU fans and booing for Purdue fans. We met some great people, of all ages and majors, and it really made me appreciate IU sports and the students.
All said and done, we ended up meeting a jokester penguin, a dancing toucan, and many fans. Tom Crean gave a speech right in front of us at about 2pm. We got 5th row seats and got on TV twice! The seniors had an amazing performance and great speeches. To top it all off, IU beat Purdue 85-74! If you have a chance to experience the Indiana culture of waiting in line for a big game do it, you won't regret it!
Here are some more pictures, enjoy!
