Why you can't trust me

So, if you're considering coming to Indiana University, the best school ever, please do not take my advice. I  cannot support other schools.  I have been a Hoosier since day one, I can't help it.

I was born during the IU/Northwestern game in 1991.  My dad had to miss the game because he was driving my mother to the hospital.  I would be pissed too.

At the age of three, when Bobby Knight was head coach (salute) my dad had me learn everyone on the team.  I had the cute little IU cheerleader uniform and everything that entails.

When I grew up a bit I thought that I wanted to go to Northwestern, despite the fact that I was highly unqualified.  I thought it was cool that they were purple.  My high school was the Wildcats, and I thought that it'd be so freaking awesome if I could be a wildcat for eight years in a row. That is dumb reasoning, I'm aware.

I realized, thank God, that IU was actally just as amazing as I always thought it was.  Not in a weird, cliched way either.  It's just super badass.  We are passionate about what we do and represent.  I'm sure everyone has seen this video:

This doesn't apply to everyone, but it shows how much we love or basketball team, even when we suck.  In case you're unaware, we're doing pretty dang good this season.

I promise there are other reasons I came to Bloomington.  For one, it is a beautiful campus. There is a picture of me when I was a little kid in front of the Showalter Fountain.  Back then I thought it was just a naked lady giving birth to a fish. I still think It's just a naked lady to be honest.

I'm quite immature and don't understand art.

We also have crazy traditions.  Little 500 is really all that needs to be said. It's a week of pure entertainment. They even made a movie about it. I love the movie Breaking Away, and so should you.  If you go to school here, you really should watch it.  It's quite tragic when people go to the race and haven't even seen it.  You can buy it at the Union at a super high price,  they also sell it at Target.

Another reason I came to IU is that I had (..have) no idea what I want to do with my life.  Unless you want to be an engineer or pharmacist, IU has everything.  I started as a Political Science, then History, and right now I'm a German major.  I've also been able to pick up a music minor.  There is so much offered here; you can truly take classes that you're interested and care about, as well as classes that have no practical use whatsoever.

In all honesty, I came to IU because: my whole family is involved here, I'm from Indianapolis, in-state tuition is "cheap," and the basketball culture is fantastic.   This was the only place I applied to because after I got in, it was the place I wanted to be.  I could talk about how amazing IU is for days.   So if you're considering anywhere else, I'm not going to understand.

I'll leave you with this new version of the IU fight song.  I understand it is autotuned and obviously not everyone behaves this way.  It's just a really fun song. If nothing else, it shows off some sick IU fashion sense.
