Brooke's Busy Semester at IU

Hey everybody!

So, it's been awhile since my last blog. And that's because I have had so many great things happening this semester! It has kept me extremely busy, but its also made me really happy! I've noticed that keeping busy and involved have kept me on task and my grades are even raising! I'm finding that I am working best under pressure! Here is a little summary of what I have been up to.

Hoosierettes Dance Team

I recently joined the Hoosierettes Pom and Dance Team and I have been loving it! We perform at some of the volleyball games and attend some soccer games this semester, as well as performances at women's basketball and other events. We support all aspects of IU from athletics, to clubs, to student run organizations! It's been a blast to be dancing again and to get to know some really awesome girls! We work hard in practice while having so much fun together. I'm super excited for the things we will do in the future!

IGEL Conference

I got the opportunity to attend the Indiana Greek Emerging Leaders conference as a representative for my sorority this past weekend. We spent the weekend at Bradford Woods camp where all four Greek councils could come together and learn from each other. It was an awesome experience where I got to meet so many different people in the Greek community. We learned about what it means to be a leader and how we could apply it to our individual chapters back at home. If any of you out there are Greek, check this out next year! It was definitely a worthwhile trip and an amazing learning experience.

A good amount of my time has been spent raising money for IUDM for this upcoming weekend. For those of you who don't know, IU Dance Marathon raises money for Riley Children's Hospital. It was started in 1991 in honor of Ryan White, and has raised more than $12 million for the kids over the past 21 years.  Good news, I reached my fundraising goal! But it doesn't stop there! We are going to continue raising money for the kids until the marathon so keep donating! Here is the link to my fundraising page: Brooke's IUDM Fundraising Page. Any amount can help! I am so excited to finally experience my first dance marathon here, and it is going to be great! I will be standing and dancing for 19 hours for the kids and I can't wait!

And on top of all of this, I have had midterms, papers, homework, sorority events and so on... Which explains why I haven't written a blog! But I hope this gave a little update into how my life has been going! This semester has been great so far and I can't wait to see what other things are in store for me!
