Hello again Bloomington. It’s been quite some time since I’ve written a blog, but since incoming freshmen will be visiting the school soon, I think it’s time I get back on the horse and write a little about dear IU.
For one, I really miss Bloomington. I miss walking up and down Kirkwood with friends. I miss Motherbears pizza and not minding paying extra for 2 brownies. Admittedly, I miss late night Pizza X as well. And Jimmy Johns (we lack JJ’s wonderful sandwiches on the west coast). I miss having Copper Cup and City Bakery for breakfast. There seems to be a food trend going on here. Maybe that just means Bloomington has great food! I miss walks through the arboretum between classes. I miss driving up and down Jordan Avenue looking at the sororities and fraternities. I miss the excitement of football and basketball games. But most of all, I miss being with my Btown friends.
When the new freshmen visit campus for Orientation, I encourage them to meet as many new people as possible. It is true that the friends you meet throughout Orientation you will remember for the years to come.
I’m so excited for fall semester to start. I love how everyone is relocating and moving around campus. At first I was worried I would lose contact with friends I see every day in the dorms, but now I look at it as having multiple locations to crash around campus. It’s so convenient.
I’ll try to keep up my updates throughout summer. Right now, I’m just missing Bloomington.
