Must See Auditorium Shows This Year! (Fall 2017 Edition)

Ah, Fall... Class is back in session, the leaves are starting to change colors, and the temperature is starting to cool down. Along with the fall comes the start of Auditorium shows. The shows at IU's Auditorium are always spectacular. Whether you're seeing a Green day play, a comedic genius like Bill Maher, or seeing a performance such as Diavolo (Coming September 26!) you can guarantee that the shows will be nothing less than amazing. This year the Auditorium has a wide variety of shows to offer. Here's a sneak peak:

Michael Carbonaro (Sept. 16)

Michael Carbonaro, the host of The Carbonaro Effect, is coming to IU to perform a live show! In his show we will most likely see his use of antics and magic for an eccentric evening. This is also Family Weekend! So if you haven't yet, invite your family down to go and see this with you. It is bound to be a show you won't want to miss!

George Takei (Sept. 19)

Just a few days later, George Takei will be coming to IU! He is coming to speak about Diversity, Difference, and otherness. The talk will be engaging, informative, and entertaining. Takei has a strong presence within our society, and he will give everyone who goes something to think about as they go about in their day to day lives with class and work. Plus who doesn't like listening to famous people discussing deep issues in society.

Alton Brown (Nov. 14)

Another amazing show heading your way this semester is Eat Your Science with one of my favorite chefs: Alton Brown. Brown uses a mix of science, comedy, and food to create two hours of entertainment. He is bound to make you laugh and hungry. (You might consider eating a big meal before!) According to Brown, "I don't want to give too much away, but we're going to play a little game with the audience." The show will be an exciting one not to miss!

Straight No Chaser (Dec. 15)

And of course just in time for the holidays, everyone's - well maybe just Bloomington's - favorite a Capella group is coming to perform. The show will feature everyone's favorite holiday songs, and with what I'm sure will be a few surprises. The show will help get you into the holiday spirit right before heading back home. Not to mention finals will be over so why not treat yourself after a long few weeks of studying (or a week of cramming), and come out to enjoy the show!

These are just a few of the shows that will be coming to IU this fall. John Cleese, Kinky Boots, The Sound of Music, Cabaret, The Wizard of Oz, and many other shows will be coming to IU this fall and next spring. Even if you've never been to a show at the Auditorium you should definitely look into it. With a wide range of shows, the Auditorium has shows for everyone.
