The weather in Bloomington is not at its best and guess what? The Flu is everywhere! It is really important to stay healthy now more than ever as classes are in full swing, you do not want to miss out on a class.
Here are a few tips to stay healthy during Flu Season.
Wash your hands -- A LOT
Sometimes we just do not have the time to wash our hands. And that could lead to you falling victim to the flu. You touch a lot of things during class time, your laptop, door handles or anything around you. Remember to wash your hands, carry hand-sanitizer, avoid shaking hands with others: do anything that will keep you away from the germs.
Clean your room
Get that vacuum out and clean that carpet in your room. You don’t have to be outside to catch the flu, your dirty room can be a reason you fall sick. So, it’s time to wipe that dust off of your bedside table and fight the flu.
Get Enough Sleep
Sleep plays an important role in boosting your immune system. Lack of sleep may cause your immune system to weaken and cause flu. It is hard to keep up with sleep especially when classes are at full swing and assignments seem like they never end but try to work on a schedule and get enough sleep in order to avoid the painful flu.
Avoid contact with sick people
Does your friend have the flu? Listen to me and stay away from your friend. Flu is easily passed on through physical contact, so make sure to have a considerable distance between you and your friend if you need to talk. And if you have the flu, do not go to class and make everyone else sick. Don’t be that kid. Cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough with a tissue or your elbow in order to decrease the spread of germs.
Make sure to stay clean and do not share your stuff with anyone if you don't want to fall sick. Just until the flu season ends be careful and carry your own stuff to avoid unnecessary indirect contact.
As Hoosiers, let's be responsible for ourselves and fight the flu.
